Campaign Al: Let's buy a couch

Thanks to everyone for voting last week. You've inspired Al to finally get off his ass and buy furniture for his living room. I'm proud to announce that he went shopping this weekend and purchased a coffee table, entertainment center and lamp. But, a contest is a contest, and Al held off buying a couch for a week so that you can vote. Without further ado, the options as selected by Al himself:

1. Dania Casal Leather Sofa
Al's comment: "It's more comfortable but it will stick when I sit on it without clothes" [You're welcome for the visual, ladies]

2. Dania Revel Sofa
The color on this one would be Mocha. They did not have a picture.
Al's comment: "It's not comfortable but I'm not gonna sit on it so its fine"

3. Roomplace Uptown II Sofa
Al's comment: "It's easily stainable and you know how I get after 2 red wines"
So, there are your options. Vote early and often and, as always, make your opinions known in the comments.

Revisionist history: Couch selection subject to Approv-Al.

i need to see the coffee table, entertainment center, and lamp before making a decision. if pressed, i'd vote for #3, then #1.

So let me get this straight.

You don't plan to sit on #2, plan to sit on #1 naked and sit on #3 drunk?

If those are your choices, I have to go with #3

I find that it's best not to question Warisian logic, Berg. As for the choices, please don't vote for #1. I don't want to sit anywhere Al's been without clothes, and parking your rear on a leather couch on a hot summer day is the antithesis of comfort.

I vote for #2.

Question - Al, do you sit on all of your furniture naked? If so, I might want to rethink ever visiting your home.

Definitely NOT #1. It screams bachelor fresh out of college. What about Room & Board. I agree with trixyone, we need to see the other pieces of furniture before deciding on a couch.

I'm with SWWP, I voted for 2 only because it was the one that had a chance of beating 1 which is god awful, like gold chain, silk shirt, hairy chest, Scarface quoting awful. I kind of like 3 though, it is the classiest and most timeless of the bunch. Given his frequency of furniture shopping, I think Al should go with something that will still look good when current styles change.

#2 looks like a decorative couch. if no one will sit on it, what's the point of dishing the cash?

al waris...don't you only drink white wine?

Couch #3 has taken the lead!! I can't wait to see that in your house. Unless you're willing to do the unthinkable and disenfranchise 10s of voters to enforce the will of the super-delegates...

dr. BJ, you can now follow your heart and follow #3 to victory!!

I am not not responding because I'm an elitist. I just don't want to influence voters.

I have to jump on the bandwagon and vote for couch #3. You don't want an uncomfortable couch, even if you don't plan on sitting on it and let's try to move away from the typical "I'm a bachelor, here are my leather couches" theme.

Hey Maz,

First time reader, long time poster. So I would go with #3 since it is the most normal of the lot. From personal experience though, I'd suggest getting one with a chaise at the end. Amazing comfort and versatility!

Al, glad to see things have progressed so much with the place since we last met ;)

It looks like Democracy has prevailed. The masses voted through their clicks and supported couch #3 by a wide margin (25%). The dedicated "Super Readers" also made their support known through the comments. Here there was a near majority for Couch #3.

As one of many Couch #3 supporters I am honored to have been a part of the political process and look forward to the inauguration of your new couch in the coming weeks.
